STACIE M. KINER

''"POETRY AND VIDEO"''

Stacie M. Kiner will present a reading of contemporary poetry and show a short video set to one of her poems. Stacie has been an active and knowledgeable member of the Salon, and is known not only for her poetry, but for a film she collaborated on that has been seen in a range of film festivals nationwide. She has been the recipient of the Hannah Kahn Memorial Award, and a Writer in Residence at the Vermont Studio Center. Her work has appeared in The University of Oregon Review, The South East Review, The Madison Review, Apalachee Quarterly, the Charlotte Poetry Review, The Comstock Review and Palm Beach International Airport. We will view the award winning short film she co-wrote, "Dark Cities", and learn about its collaborative writing, production and distribution. "Dark Cities " is a 16mm, ten-minute-long film, based on a poem by Stacie M. Kiner, Jan McLaughlin and Bruce Weber, directed by Edward J. Reasor and produced/written by Jan McLaughlin. Wall Street and Trinity Church were key locations.
