TALYA LERMAN AND ELLE SCHORR

''"MEMORIAL FOR ALYX KELLINGTON"''

At the next Art, Women, and Culture Salon, we celebrate the life of Alyx Kellington. If you have shared in any of her many projects here in the community and would like to tell us about them, we’d like to hear them. If you didn’t know her but wish you had, come and learn about this special woman. If you’ve got photos or stuff you’d like to send in, you can email Talya Lerman.

Alyx Kellington was there...
From Street Painting Festivals to Raft Races, Art Cars to Arts Integration,
Palm Beach Institute for Contemporary Art to the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, Austin, Texas to New York to Boston, El Salvador to Chiapas, Mexico, Haiti to New Orleans, Miami to Lake Worth and Belle Glade.

From war photographer to college lecturer on women and war and abuse of women at home, from art parties at home to the Downtown Cultural Alliance, from local elections to national politics, from recycling waste and lowering consumption to water conservation to code issues, from planting trees to neighborhood associations, and especially in every art endeavor in Lake Worth.

For in the last 8 years, Alyx Kellington was here...
leading the way and working tirelessly to make this a better community and a better world. For kids and adults, she was here, meeting everyone who was a part of the art and education and non-profit and government world, and making sure that they knew each other, talking people up and putting projects together, taking a leadership role.
