''"THE DIGITAL PROCESS – REVOLUTION OR EVOLUTION?"''

“The Digital Process – Revolution or Evolution?” Melinda Moore is an award winning digital photographer known for her creative use of montage and collage, and has developed her skills through extensive networking and study with other digital artists around the world whom she met through Flicker and other online sources.

Melinda presents a short history of digital development and some of the trends she sees in the world of digital art. She’ll explain some of the different styles of digital art, such as photo manipulation, math based fractals, digital painting, texturing, collage and montage, as well as some of the programs and tools that are used by the artists: Photoshop, GIMP, Corel Paint, Bryce, and Terragen, plus add on filters such as Topaz and NiK. She’ll show examples by some top artists and share her insights into how these artworks are created. She’ll be showing some of her own work and her personal process, which relies heavily on texture montage.

Melinda believes that traditional and digital arts use many of the same concepts, such as balance, color theory, space, harmony and contrast, though the tools needed are very different. You
