You’ve seen her work at the Boynton Beach Arts District and in Wynwood during Art Basel, at the FAU Library in Jupiter and at The Mordes Collection “Outside the Box”, at the recent Cultural Council of the Palm Beaches “Paws and Claws” and at many other places in south Florida.

This art talk will explore the artist’s journey from traditional object maker through the various stages of her art career; ending at her current stage working under the pseudonym Birds are Nice to promote science literacy through conceptual art. Processes and use of unique materials will be discussed, along with a little science. Her goal is to save the planet one artwork at a time!

Birds are Nice is an American artist, born in Pennsylvania, currently working in south Florida. This interdisciplinary artist utilizes various printmaking techniques with cut vinyl, illustration, sculpture and animation. The work has a distinct urban feel, with a style rooted in the comic book genre, but also has strong influences from artist like Robert Rauschenberg, Jasper Johns and Daisy Youngblood. Her work has been categorized as socio-eco-political.
