It's been a year and a half since the Art Salons at the Armory Art Center began. A diverse group of fascinating artists from throughout South Florida have shown their work, many of them active participants in salons at which other artists are spotlighted. At each salon, there is time for introductions and discussions about materials, techniques, and concepts, as well as about career development. Lots of personal connections have been formed.

It's time to take a breather and spend some time in reflection and assessment. Elle Schorr, facilitator of the salons, has invited Jenifer Mangione-Vogt to join her in leading a larger discussion about our careers as artists and our goals for the future, and about how the salons can best help us in our growth. This will be an opportunity for all of us to get to know each other better, and talk in more depth about the issues that concern us as we move forward in our lives. We'll be talking about both the Mixed / Multi Media Salon and the Art, Women and Culture Salon, and welcome all of your suggestions for future programming, as we begin to plan for season three.
